London fog tea 1

As I love anything British and am a daily tea drinker, London Fog was something I really wanted to make. I love tea with frothed milk so I decided to buy a frother and give it a try. London Fog is a tea brewed with Earl Grey tea, sweetened with sugar, flavored with vanilla and topped with hot frothed milk, cinnamon or crumbled lavender and other edible wildflowers. It’s very evocative of peaceful afternoons spent in charming London cafes and who doesn’t dream of that?

I used decaf Earl Grey for the tea, alcohol free vanilla extract, unsweetened soy milk and agave nectar for a sweetener. For topping I used cinnamon and crushed lavender and wildflower blossoms. The result was amazing. Instantly calming and soothing and with just the right touch of sweetness. A perfect treat when you need something a little bit special.

Making London Fog

Making London Fog is very easy. You just need to brew the tea and froth the milk. Frothing milk is alot easier with a milk frother which can be bought online for a low price. If you don’t have a frother, an emersion blender or blender will work as well.

Frothing milk

I use decaf Earl Grey tea for this recipe because I find it more soothing than caffeinated tea. It doesn’t matter which you choose, just use a nice quality tea and be sure to brew it for at least two minutes.

For sweetener you can use whatever you prefer. I used agave for this recipe and sometimes use stevia leaf powder. It’s up to you as well as is how sweet you want to make it. For topping you can use cinnamon or lavender flowers. I often use both. For this recipe I used a wildflower blend which looks pretty and adds a subtle floral essence to the tea.
