A Green Juice is a great way to start your day and a fast and easy way to eat your veggies! It’s super healthy, full of fibre and nutrients, and is delicious as well.
The first time I tried a green juice I was amazed by how yummy it was. A juice made of kale, spinach and cucumber doesn’t sound that appealing, but when mixed with the sweetness of fruit, the spice of ginger and the creaminess of almond butter, it becomes a delicious treat that’s well worth getting out of bed for.
I usually drink my green juice for breakfast, especially if I’m going to be working out. It hydrates and it’s also liquid so it doesn’t cause food exercise cramps. I also sometimes drink it after workouts to rehydrate and get a protein and nutritional boost. It’s also great in the winter. The colours and nutrients are welcome and beneficial in the cold, grey months.
Making Green Juice
Making green juice is super easy. You just prepare and assemble your ingredients, place them in a blender and blend until smooth. Be sure to pick fresh and preferably organic produce for the most nutritents and flavour.
To prepare, just wash, slice and roughly chop the fruits and vegetables and place in a blender with the almond butter, flax meal and 4-6 cups of water. Blend until smooth. If you have a small lower power blender, you might have to do it two batches and blend for longer. After blending, pour it two glasses and serve. Store leftovers in the fridge and drink within one day.
A Great Way to Start Your Day
Starting your day with a green juice is a great way to get a high energy and nutritional boost. It tastes great and is full of fibre, nutrients and color. Perfect for breakfast or before or after a workout, and ideal if you’re on a low carb diet as well. Enjoy!
